6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dean Roger! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, David Schapiro and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roger misses with a hook. We've been hearing reports that Harvey has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Harvey bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Roger wants to get back to his feet but Harvey is dominant here and he's now got Roger's back! What can Roger do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Roger trying to control the hands but Harvey breaks the grip. Roger rolls, trying to escape but Harvey keeps control of the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Harvey is not going to allow Roger to sit and survive in this position. Harvey is persistently looking for the submission but Roger is defending it well.

He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Roger works his way back into a safe position though. Roger throwing strikes but missing. Roger trying to control the position from guard on top but Harvey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Roger is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Harvey escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Roger gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Roger wants to control from the top but Harvey keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Van Harvey dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Roger keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Harvey bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Harvey attempts a counter takedown but Roger avoids it well and moves away. Roger stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Roger wants it to stay on the feet. Roger jabbing away but nothing is landing. Dean Roger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Harvey takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Roger loads up on a big right hand but Harvey slips the punch. Harvey throws a quick counter head kick but Roger was just out of range. Roger throws a shot to the body.
Roger throws a looping overhand right but Harvey ducks down to avoid it. Roger moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Harvey has managed to clinch.
Roger pushes off an throws an elbow but Harvey leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Harvey stalls. A bit of stalling here from Roger.

That's one minute gone in the round. A head punch on the inside from Roger fails to land. Harvey throws a head punch that misses. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Roger just misses with a elbow thrown towards Harvey's brow. Roger tries to land a knee to the head but Harvey blocks with his arms.
Roger lands with a short shot to the head. Harvey blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Roger pushes Harvey back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Harvey lands a nice uppercut. Harvey blocks an uppercut.
Roger lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Roger missing with knees to the body.
Harvey lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Harvey passes the guard and advances to mount! Harvey controlling from the full mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roger wants to hold on but Harvey pushes him away. Harvey takes Roger's back. Roger has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Harvey is trying to control but Roger is trying to escape here - he's now mounted.

Harvey looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Harvey trying to control but Roger is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Harvey is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Roger can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Harvey here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Roger has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Harvey's lack of action.
Roger is looking to improve his position.

Harvey is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Roger can do to turn this around? Harvey avoids the attempt from Roger to control. Roger is trying to reverse the position but instead Harvey has taken his back - oops! Harvey looking for the choke from the back. Harvey is trying to stick to Roger's back but Roger is turning into Harvey. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Harvey's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Roger. Roger slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Roger got a little sloppy there for a moment and Harvey has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Roger has managed to get both his arms back between Harvey's legs - danger averted. Roger throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Harvey works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Roger trying to control the position from guard on top but Harvey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Harvey looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Roger passes into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Harvey is looking for a sweep. Roger is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Roger looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Harvey is not content to let Roger control the position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
And that's the end of the fight! Van Harvey showed his dominance in that final round. I think Harvey has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
