Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
21 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takem Downem!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
44 - 29 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jax Teller!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Sano and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Teller lands a jab to the nose.
Teller scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Downem doesn't seem bothered though.
The fight stays on the outside here - Downem looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Teller lands a head kick. Downem smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Downem drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
A chopping leg kick lands by Teller.
Downem tries a head kick but it misses.
Teller scores with a leg kick.
Teller has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Downem looks to land a combination but Teller avoids it well.
Downem looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Teller lands a slapping body shot.
Downem closes the distance and clinches up with Teller, looking for a takedown. Downem pushes Teller against the cage but Teller circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Downem tries to clinch
and Teller counters with a nice body shot.
Donk. Teller catches Downem right on the button with a cross.
Teller moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
A shot to the liver by Teller. Beautiful body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Downem shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Teller counters with a nice uppercut.
Teller lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Teller.
Teller cracks Downem with a good jab.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Teller, right into the meat.
Downem with a poor takedown
and Downem takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Takem Downem. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Teller clobbers Downem with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Teller throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Downem shoots in for a takedown but Teller shows good takedown defense.
Teller connects with a looping right hand.
Jax Teller is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Teller lands a nice looking body shot.
Teller lands with a good body shot.
A jab from Teller does it's job there.
Teller lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Downem is rocked!

Oh Downem is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Teller is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Downem had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
A cross from Teller lands.
Downem has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Teller.
Downem takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Downem doesn't succeed with the takedown
enabling Teller to counter with a crisp jab.
Teller ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Downem swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Teller counters with a series of strikes that really hurt Downem! The ref looks into his eyes and sees nobody home - he's called the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jax Teller!
A very excited looking Jax Teller made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
