Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Caol Dos (ranked 5001 p4p, 427 weight class) and Guilhaume Prevot (ranked 4831 p4p, 417 weight class). Guilhaume Prevot is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Caol Dos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Guilhaume Prevot! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Steve Montenegro and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dos tries to clinch there but Prevot circles away.
Prevot feints the counter takedown. Dos lands a head shot. A clash of legs there as Prevot blocks the low kick. Dos fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Caol Dos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dos closes the distance but Prevot moves to the side and Prevot counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Dos lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
A jab from Dos misses. Dos throws a one two combo.
A combination from Prevot does no damage. Dos closes the distance but Prevot moves to the side so Prevot counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dos bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Prevot's guard. Dos postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Dos is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Midnight MMA that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Dos trying to control but Prevot is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dos postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Prevot is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dos, into his guard.
Prevot thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Prevot is looking to work some ground and pound but Dos has wrist control. Dos wants to sweep here but Prevot controlling him for the moment. Prevot trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Dos manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Prevot has Dos pulled in close to control his posture.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Prevot is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Dos is stalling in the full guard. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Dos chips away with some ground and pound. Dos trying to control the position from guard on top but Prevot is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Prevot is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dos is controlling him. Prevot keeping moving, preventing Dos from controlling successfully. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Prevot seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Dos displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Prevot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Prevot scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Dos is looking to reverse the position. Prevot tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Dos manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Dos is looking to improve his position.
Dos has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Prevot is working away from the top position though. Dos is looking for a sweep. Prevot is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Dos trying to control here.
Dos works his way to full guard. Good work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Caol Dos will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Dos throws a shot to the body.
Dos bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Prevot looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Prevot fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Dos misses with a body kick. Prevot tries to clinch but Dos is having none of it. Dos swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Prevot fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dos, pushing him back against the cage. Prevot's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Prevot rushes Dos and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Prevot tries to pull guard but Dos forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Dos has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Prevot clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dos softening up his opponent with strikes here.
You can see the frustration on Prevot's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Dos tries to keep control of the position but Prevot is staying busy. Prevot just trying to survive but Dos is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dos trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Prevot is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Dos gets his way!
Dos has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Prevot has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Dos is looking for a rear naked choke here but Prevot reverses the position brilliantly into Dos's guard!

Caol Dos is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Prevot punishes Dos's body with a nice straight punch. Prevot swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dos. Prevot does a little dance to reset his feet. Prevot moves out of range as Dos strikes. Prevot forces Dos back against the cage and clinches. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Prevot is trying to stall.

Dos throws a jab but it's blocked by Prevot. Dos rushes Prevot and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Dos has clasped his hands together around Prevot's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Prevot is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Dos has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Dos can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Prevot is looking to escape. Prevot tries to hold on but Dos postures up. Dos wants to take Prevot's back here but Prevot is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Prevot is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Dos moves to take his opponent's back. Dos looking for the choke from the back. Prevot is looking to stand back up. He's having to work hard to escape but eventually he manages it. Dos fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dos dives in and scores a takedown into Prevot's guard. Dos wants to control from the top but Prevot keeps moving. Dos will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Dos trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Prevot manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Dos can't keep his opponent in guard - Prevot advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Prevot working Dos over with strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Guilhaume Prevot will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Prevot throws a right hand that Dos ducks under and follows up with a left that Dos also avoids with ease. Dos tries to bum rush Prevot with a series of wild strikes but Prevot uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Dos tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Prevot swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Dos throws the left hand but Prevot avoids the punch easily. No joy there for Dos, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Prevot manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Dos is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Prevot slips under a jab. Dos is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Dos fails with an attempt to clinch.
Prevot shoots in but Dos avoids the takedown attempt easily. Dos wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Prevot lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dos throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Prevot works the jab nicely. Dos closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Prevot to the mat! Prevot manages to get full guard. Prevot has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Dos is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Dos tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Prevot manages to break the clinch.

A frustrated look appears on Prevot's face as he tries to break the clinch. Prevot is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Dos is defending well. Prevot is fighting off a takedown attempt but Dos is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Prevot to the mat. Prevot regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Dos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Prevot swivels though and keeps the full guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Prevot is on top in guard.
Prevot looking to pass the guard. Dos looking for a sweep. Not yet Dos, not yet. Guilhaume Prevot has got the better of the ground game so far. Dos is trying to keep Prevot in close.
Prevot slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Prevot decides to take the fight back to the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dos tries to clinch but Prevot is having none of it. Prevot scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Dos walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Prevot checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Prevot closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Prevot lands a left hand.
Prevot breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Dos misses with a looping left. Dos drives through and clinches with Prevot against the cage.
Prevot is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Dos gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Caol Dos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Guilhaume Prevot. Prevot tries to pull guard but Dos forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Dos leaning his opponent against the cage. Dos breaks from the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dos lands a slapping body shot.

A short left from Dos. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Dos breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Dos fails to land with a series of punches.

Dos throws a wild body kick that Prevot sees coming a mile off. Prevot tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dos swats him away and circles back towards the center. Dos throws a right and a left that Prevot avoids nicely. Dos tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Dos throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Dos throws a jab when Prevot was well out of range.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Caol Dos. I think Dos has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
