Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Eduardo Alvarez (ranked 4195 p4p, 199 weight class) and Rafa Silva (ranked 5011 p4p, 237 weight class). Silva has chosen UFC Theme Song as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
24 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eduardo Alvarez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
59 - 20 - 3, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rafa Silva! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Paulo Santos and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva loads up on a big right hand but Alvarez slips the punch. Alvarez throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Silva lands a leg kick that knocks Alvarez off balance momentarily. Alvarez throws a lazy right hand but Silva sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Silva throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Silva looks to land a body kick but Alvarez moved away. Alvarez throws a body shot but no joy. A countering left hand to the body from Silva misses. Alvarez shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Silva's guard. Silva wants to sweep but no luck. Alvarez trying to control but Silva is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Silva pulls Alvarez in close to his closed guard and prevents Alvarez from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alvarez slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Silva tries to get back to half guard but can't. Silva is not content to let Alvarez control the position. Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alvarez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Alvarez in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Silva is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
