Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gennady Golovkin (ranked 6387 p4p, 520 weight class) and Carson Palmer (ranked 9874 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gennady Golovkin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carson Palmer!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Golovkin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Palmer swivels and escapes.
Golovkin shoots in looking for a takedown. Palmer tries to sprawl out of it but Golovkin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Palmer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Palmer rushes Golovkin and presses him up against the cage.
Golovkin tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gennady Golovkin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Golovkin blocks a punch to the side of the head.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
A shot in the inside from Palmer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Palmer pushes Golovkin back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Palmer lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Golovkin backwards.
Golovkin wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Palmer has him pressed against the cage.
Golovkin fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Palmer lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Palmer tries to land a knee to the head but Golovkin blocks with his arms.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Palmer.
Golovkin is rocked!
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Palmer.
Palmer lands a left hand that snaps the head of Golovkin backwards.
Oh Golovkin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Still in the clinch, Palmer scores with a nice short uppercut.
Palmer creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Golovkin with a big uppercut! Golovkin tries to clinch up but Palmer pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Golovkin to the mat! Golovkin covers up and Palmer unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Carson Palmer!
