Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Esquire (ranked 5868 p4p, 667 weight class) and Sam Watts (ranked 8205 p4p, 754 weight class). Sam Watts told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jason Esquire! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sam Watts! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Daniel Franklin and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Esquire tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Watts defends well and Esquire ends up having to push Watts into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Esquire moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromWatts. Good shot there by Watts. Watts scores with a shot to the body.
Esquire closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Watts's guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Watts can do anything to dispel that myth. Esquire wants to control from the top but Watts keeps moving. Esquire thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Esquire trying to control the position from guard on top but Watts is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Esquire throwing strikes but missing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Watts wants to stand up but Esquire is controlling him. Esquire trying to control but Watts is working from the bottom. Watts uses the cage to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Esquire takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Esquire shoots in but no luck this time. Esquire takes a shot right to the bread basket. Watts lands a left and a right that send Esquire crashing to the mat, dazed. Watts thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Esquire is rocked!
It looks like Jason Esquire has been cut. Watts lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Esquire crumples to the floor! Watts milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Sam Watts!
