Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Grover Guthrie (ranked 24919 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Kain (ranked 9768 p4p, 0 weight class). Grover Guthrie has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Grover Guthrie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sam Kain! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Patrick Alders and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Guthrie shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Guthrie showed some decent athleticism there. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Kain wants to improve his position but Guthrie is controlling well.
Guthrie really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Kain is trying to maintain the position but Guthrie is very close to passing his half guard. Guthrie will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Guthrie winds up and cracks Kain with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Guthrie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kain doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Guthrie. Guthrie is nestled in close to Kain, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Guthrie looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Guthrie takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Kain has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Guthrie is on him like a limpet, forcing Kain back against the cage. Guthrie drags the fight down to the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are working up against the cage. Guthrie manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Guthrie breaks the clinch.

Kain trying to control the position but instead, Guthrie has worked for underhooks and has pushed Kain into the cage. Guthrie breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Kain shoots in and drives through. Guthrie sprawls well. Nice sprawl there from Guthrie as Kain shoots in. Kain has managed to clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kain is trying to force a seperation but Guthrie has the dominant position. Kain with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Kain is trying to break free. Guthrie breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Guthrie closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kain's guard. Kain is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Guthrie distracts Kain with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Kain has momentary wrist control but Guthrie slips an elbow through the middle. Guthrie with a nice head shot there. Kain gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Kain looks winded!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Guthrie fails with a takedown attempt from distance. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Guthrie. Guthrie closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kain did well to prevent Guthrie getting side control. Kain really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Guthrie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Guthrie working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Kain is looking for a sweep. Guthrie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Guthrie lands with a punch from half guard. Guthrie is working for a kimura but Kain is defending it quite comfortably.
Guthrie decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Grover Guthrie dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Kain shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Guthrie sprawls well. Guthrie wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kain gets slowly back to his feet. Kain misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kain defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Guthrie. Kain pushes Guthrie up against the cage in a clinch. Guthrie breaks the clinch.
Sam Kain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Guthrie will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Guthrie tries for a takedown but Kain sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Grover Guthrie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kain throws a sloppy head kick and Guthrie moves out of range easily. Kain fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Guthrie shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kain's guard. Kain uses the cage to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guthrie throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kain was covering up waiting for the punch and Guthrie finishes the takedown easily into guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kain wants to hit a switch here but Guthrie passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Kain there! Guthrie lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Guthrie working the ground and pound effectively.
BOOM! Guthrie connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Guthrie is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kain can do to turn this around? Guthrie with a couple of short strikes. Grover Guthrie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Guthrie punishing his opponent with strikes. Guthrie jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kain manages to avoid the submission attempt. Guthrie scoring with punches and elbows.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Guthrie in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Guthrie cracks Kain with a big right hand but Kain just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Kain takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Guthrie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Kain takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Kain is looking for a sweep. Guthrie decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kain to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Guthrie dodges the punch combination from Kain.
Guthrie shoots in for a takedown but Kain shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Kain moves into the clinch. Guthrie fails to pull guard.

Guthrie looking for a triangle here. Kain is fighting it but it looks tight! Guthrie pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Kain is tapping out - this one is all over!
