Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonas Hawkins (ranked 25486 p4p, 0 weight class) and Monson Gleaves (ranked 6395 p4p, 0 weight class). Gleaves is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Somebody I Used To Know. Jonas Hawkins has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonas Hawkins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Monson Gleaves! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gleaves forces Hawkins back against the cage and clinches. Gleaves is looking to take this one to the mat. Hawkins wants a takedown.
Hawkins misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Hawkins tries to pull guard but Gleaves holds him up against the cage and eventually Hawkins drops back down to his feet.
Gleaves ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gleaves no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Gleaves controlling Hawkins's posture. Hawkins really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Hawkins trying to stand up but can't free himself from Gleaves's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gleaves lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Hawkins can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gleaves controls the pace. Hawkins will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Hawkins is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gleaves drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hawkins manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gleaves has Hawkins in his guard. Hawkins tries to stand but Gleaves is controlling from the bottom. Hawkins stopping the sweep attempt from Gleaves. Hawkins has gone for a leg lock! Gleaves slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hawkins's guard. Gleaves takes a decent strike to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hawkins controls Gleaves momentarily but Gleaves frees himself. Gleaves is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Hawkins keeping moving, preventing Gleaves from controlling successfully. Gleaves stays in close to Hawkins's body and controls the position. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Gleaves slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Gleaves tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gleaves is looking to take a break and control but Hawkins is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hawkins is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Hawkins is pushing Gleaves's head away, looking to escape. Gleaves manages to hold on to the position though. Hawkins struggling a bit here. Hawkins on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hawkins is positioning himself to get back to half guard. A lull in the action here as Gleaves stalls from top position. Hawkins knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gleaves on the ground. Gleaves has hold of Hawkins's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Hawkins seems comfortable defending it but Gleaves has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Hawkins is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Hawkins is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Gleaves couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Monson Gleaves! Jumping up and down and very excited, Monson Gleaves waved his t-shirt featuring IniTech Nutrition 's logo in front of the cameras.
