Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Squiggy Squirrelly! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tebato Nakara! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nakara moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Squirrelly jabs Nakara to the body, keeping him at a distance. Squirrelly looks to land a left hand but Nakara moved out of range nicely. Nakara changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Nakara will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Squirrelly pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Nakara back to the ropes. Squirrelly follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Nakara tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Squirrelly defends well and Nakara ends up having to push Squirrelly into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch. Tebato Nakara seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nakara steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Squirrelly. Nakara feints the counter takedown. Squirrelly has been working on his boxing with his coaches at LOD: Lightning Kicks (MaxID290K) in the buildup to the fight. Nakara closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Squirrelly did well to prevent Nakara getting side control. Squirrelly keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Nakara has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Nakara landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nakara lands strikes from half guard. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Squirrelly is trying to stand up here but Nakara is controlling him well. Nakara is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Squirrelly has hold of Nakara's hands but Nakara slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Nakara looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Squirrelly with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Squirrelly has one foot on Nakara's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Nakara shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Squirrelly sprawls well. Squirrelly wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Nakara gets slowly back to his feet. Squiggy Squirrelly has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tebato Nakara. Squirrelly lands a head shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters circle momentarily. Squirrelly darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. No luck with that takedown attempt from Nakara. Nakara bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Nakara tries to score a power double leg takedown but Squirrelly sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nakara somewhat. Squiggy Squirrelly is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Squirrelly lands a jab to the nose. Nakara shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Nakara drops an elbow to the side of Squirrelly's head. Nakara working over Squirrelly with some ground and pound. Squirrelly looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Squirrelly tries to kick Nakara off but Nakara keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Nakara working Squirrelly over with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Squirrelly is trying to control but can't.

Squirrelly is breathing heavily. Nice strikes from Nakara there. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nakara is nestled in close to Squirrelly, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Ground and pound from Nakara. Ground and pound from Nakara. Nakara slips a nice elbow through Squirrelly's hands, connecting with Squirrelly's forehead. Nakara looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Squirrelly with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Nakara winds up and cracks Squirrelly with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Nakara lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Nakara drops an elbow to the side of Squirrelly's head. Nakara is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Squirrelly looks like he's trying to stand up.
Nakara looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Squirrelly is rocked! Nakara working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Oh Squirrelly is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nakara lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Squirrelly quite badly. Squirrelly pulls Nakara in close trying to recover. Nakara postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Squirrelly on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Squirrelly doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tebato Nakara! During a confident post fight interview, Tebato Nakara thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
