Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between JR Adams Junior (ranked 1420 p4p, 171 weight class) and Scott John (ranked 760 p4p, 94 weight class). Adams Junior comes to the cage accompanied by Looking for the Stone. JR Adams Junior is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, JR Adams Junior! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Scott John! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yuuki Gou and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! John bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. John checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. John tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Adams Junior was well out of range. Poor timing from John. Adams Junior slips a straight right by John. Adams Junior fails with a takedown attempt. John moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. John ducks under a wild hook from Adams Junior. John punishes Adams Junior's body with a nice straight punch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Adams Junior fakes high and swings low for a body shot but John manages to avoid it. And an attempted straight right on the counter from John! But no joy. John connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. John throws a body kick that misses and Adams Junior counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for John! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Adams Junior with the ground and pound but John regains half guard under the barage of strikes.

Adams Junior is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so John is just riding it out for now. Adams Junior eventually gives up the hold. John regains full guard. Nicely done. Adams Junior trying to control but John is working from the bottom. John trying to control the position here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Adams Junior's corner is telling him to maintain position. Adams Junior sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed John's guard. Adams Junior with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. John moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Adams Junior stays in close to John's body and controls the position. Adams Junior content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. John pulls Adams Junior in close to prevent any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. John utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. John keeping moving, preventing Adams Junior from controlling successfully. John is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Adams Junior looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Adams Junior misses with a low kick.
John has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Adams Junior is landing a low percentage of strikes. Adams Junior throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. John lands a jab to the nose. Adams Junior throws a lazy body kick enabling John to counter with a crisp jab. Adams Junior swings for the body but John moves out of range.
John only half commits to the counter leg kick. John throws a leg kick that is checked and Adams Junior decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in John's guard. Adams Junior wants to pass the guard but John is keeping the position. Adams Junior throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Adams Junior being controlled here momentarily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Scott John will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Adams Junior uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by John.
John connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Scott John seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Adams Junior shoots in but no luck this time. A nice side step and John releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. John with a hook. Nice shot lands for Adams Junior. Adams Junior throws a body kick that misses and Adams Junior takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Adams Junior misses with a leg kick. John looks to land a body kick but Adams Junior moved away. John cracks Adams Junior with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. John looking to land some kicks to the body here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Adams Junior closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. John is pushing Adams Junior's head away, looking to escape. Adams Junior manages to hold on to the position though. John is not content to let Adams Junior control the position. Adams Junior staying calm. John is trying to control Adams Junior's posture but Adams Junior avoids it. Adams Junior creates some space and throws a big elbow, but John sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Adams Junior in side control, throwing shots but John defends. John wants to control but Adams Junior postures up. Adams Junior has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. John is looking to reverse the position. JR Adams Junior overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. John keeps trying to improve his position. John tries to escape but Adams Junior is in control. John tries to get back to half guard but can't. Adams Junior working the ground and pound. John stops Adams Junior from passing to mount. Adams Junior tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Adams Junior scoring with punches and elbows.
That's three minutes gone in the round. John is trying to buck Adams Junior off. John tries to bench press Adams Junior off him but Adams Junior keeps the position. John is not content to let Adams Junior control the position. John tries to improve position but can't. Adams Junior landing strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. John is looking for a sweep. John wants to control but Adams Junior postures up. Adams Junior tries to advance position but instead John slips a leg back in to half guard. Adams Junior seems to be working for a kimura but John defends the submission attempt. John has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Adams Junior is working away from the top position though. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Adams Junior wants to lay and pray for a moment but John keeps working. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that JR Adams Junior will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as John checks a leg kick. John takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. John throws a jab when Adams Junior was well out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. A looping hook to the body misses from John. Adams Junior does a little dance to reset his feet. John misses with a hook. Adams Junior attempts a counter takedown but John avoids it well and moves away. Adams Junior misses with a telegraphed body shot
and John cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Adams Junior ducks down and throws a hook to the body but John moves away. John throws a big shot that misses. Scott John is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. John throws a leg kick and Adams Junior counters with a single leg into guard. John didn't expect that. John pushes Adams Junior off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Adams Junior checks the leg kick nicely there.
Adams Junior blocks a jab. Adams Junior appears to be looking for a big counter. A low kick from John misses and Adams Junior counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Adams Junior. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. John managing to control the position.

Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for John. Adams Junior landing strikes from the mount.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to JR Adams Junior. I think Adams Junior has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
