Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Douglas Murray! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Wache Lee! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Sandra Marshall and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murray fails with a takedown attempt. Murray takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Murray takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Murray keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Wache Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lee swats away the attempt to clinch by Murray. Murray shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Lee tries for a takedown but Murray circles away easily and Murray counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Murray. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lee's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Lee is trying to force a seperation but Murray has the dominant position. Lee misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Murray.
That's one minute gone in the round. Murray is trying to pull guard but Lee has him pressed against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Douglas Murray. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lee tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Lee wants to break the clinch but can't.
Lee throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Murrays head. Murray drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Lee gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Murray's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Lee connects with the punch. Lee avoids a punch combination nicely.
Murray leaves Lee with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Lee throws a body shot but no joy. A jab lands there for Lee. Murray drops Lee with a beautiful combination! Lee stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Murray is looking for the KO!
Lee is rocked!
It looks like Wache Lee has been cut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lee misses with a hook
and Murray counters with a deadly accurate combination that rocks Lee badly! He tries to strike back but Murray puts an end to that with another precision combo that knocks Lee out cold! Oh man, Lee will never hear the end of this one!
