Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sun Ming (ranked 6784 p4p, 294 weight class) and Danny Manny (ranked 5308 p4p, 247 weight class). Danny Manny will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sun Ming! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Danny Manny! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ming tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Manny manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. A head kick misses from Manny. Ming fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Manny, pushing him back against the cage. Manny wants to take the fight to the mat but Ming manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. A short body shot lands from Ming as the two fighters clinch.
Manny changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ming fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Ming misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Manny gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Ming cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Sun Ming has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danny Manny. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ming with a body punch. A glancing blow. Ming ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Manny moves away. Manny throws a big counter head kick but Ming avoids it with no problem. Ming takes the fight into the clinch. Ming tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ming can't find room to land a body shot as Manny controls the action.
Manny wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ming has him pressed against the cage. Ming is looking to take this one to the mat. Ming struggles to land a body shot inside as Manny controls his hands.

Manny is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Ming doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Ming keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Manny's efforts to push away. Ming swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Ming lands a hook that snaps the head of Manny backwards. Manny working hard to break the clinch. Ming misses with the head strike.
A left hand lands to the body for Ming.
Ming has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Manny after a bit of a struggle. Ming tries for a takedown but Manny manages to get underhooks.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Manny lands with a left to the head. Ming tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Manny wants a takedown but no success here.
Ming misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Manny is struggling to control the position. Ming can't find room to land a body shot as Manny controls the action.
Ming pushes Manny back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Manny tries to pull guard but Ming forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Manny blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Manny jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ming walks away with a smile on his face. Manny gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Decent striking displayed by Ming there. Manny closes the distance and clinches. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ming wants a takedown.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A right handed body shot lands from Ming.
Manny drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ming pulls his leg out and moves away.
Manny stuffs the takedown attempt from Ming. Ming gets slowly back to his feet. Ming looks to clinch and Manny counters with a one-two to the body. Ming misses with a wild body shot. Ming tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Ming gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Ming throws a head punch that misses. Manny manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Ming trying to control the position from guard on top but Manny is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ming drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Manny dives on top into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Manny throws a big elbow that misses. Manny gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Manny misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Ming tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Manny counters with a two punch combo. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ming throws a body punch but Manny moves out of range. Ming scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Manny doesn't seem bothered though. Ming lands a head shot. Ming wants to clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sun Ming dominated that round. That's time! Ming's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Ming throws a right and a left that both miss. Ming closes this distance looking for a takedown but Manny circles away. Manny shoots in looking for a takedown but Ming manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Manny's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. It looked like Ming was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Ming looks to score with a jab to the body but Manny is just out of range. Ming stuns Manny with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Ming lands a nice leg kick that just misses Manny's sensitive parts. Sun Ming is winning the standup battle so far. Ming fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Manny changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ming tries to avoid it but Manny manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ming to the ground. Ming escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Manny has closed the distance and engaged Ming in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Manny is trying to pull guard but Ming has him pressed against the cage. Sun Ming has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danny Manny. The referee is keeping an eye on Ming - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Still in the clinch, Ming scores with a nice short uppercut. Ming misses with a punch to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ming lands with a light punch inside. Manny blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Manny working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ming. Manny utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Ming is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Manny can do to turn this around? Ming postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Manny is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ming, into his guard. Ming wants to sweep but no luck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ming being controlled here, momentarily. Manny drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ming dives on top into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ming trying to control but Manny is working from the bottom. Ming throws a big right hand that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Manny keeping moving, preventing Ming from controlling successfully. Ming has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Manny trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Manny has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Makoa - Hilo Cheapest Gym. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Ming throws an elbow that misses. Manny uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ming's guard. Nice move by Manny! Manny controls from within his opponent's guard. Manny stands up from guard. Let's bang! Danny Manny is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ming throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Manny tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ming is in Manny's guard. Manny is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ming postures up in Manny's guard and throws a big left but Manny blocks it. Manny wants to sweep but no luck. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ming accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Ming passes easily into side control. Nice work. Ming goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Manny rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Ming's guard! Nice work there by Manny! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Manny works a leg free and moves into half guard. Manny performing his best blanket impression for a moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sun Ming dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Manny moves out of range of the leg kick from Ming. Manny changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Ming takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Ming closes the distance and clinches. Ming misses with a punch to the body.

Ming lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Ming tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Ming. Ming misses with a short punch on the inside. A left hand lands to the body for Ming.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Manny is pressed up against the cage. Ming has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Manny down to the mat. Manny avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Ming tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Manny paws at him with a jab and circles away. Ming displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Manny. Ming throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Manny takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Ming stuffs the takedown. Ming is looking to wear down Manny with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Manny shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ming pinned against the cage. Ming gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. It looked like Ming was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Sun Ming is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ming doesn't manage to clinch there - Manny circles away.

Ming thuds a left hand into Manny's body. Manny slaps away a takedown attempt from Ming, before circling back to the center of the mat. Manny takes the fight into the clinch. Ming pushes Manny back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. A left hand lands to the body for Ming.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Manny jumps guard but Ming stands there with Manny around his waist. Manny gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Manny tries to throw a body punch but Ming avoids it by throwing Manny back against the cage. Manny tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ming just stands there and leans against the cage. Manny decides to pull guard. Ming engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Ming looking to pass the guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Sun Ming showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ming, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Sun Ming! Sun Ming decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
