Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Arsteen Berghen! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Don Petersen! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, David Hoff and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Berghen takes the fight into the clinch. Petersen tries to circle away but Berghen has him pinned against the ropes. Berghen pulls guard successfully.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Berghen tries to land a sweep but no joy. Berghen punching from the bottom. Berghen trying to keep a closed guard but Petersen is proving a slippery customer.
Petersen stopping the sweep attempt from Berghen. Petersen works a leg free and moves into half guard. Berghen definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Berghen throws a strike from the bottom but Petersen passes into side control!

Petersen looking to ground and pound but Berghen is blocking nicely. Petersen lands a heavy elbow. Petersen trying to control but Berghen is having none of it. Petersen content just to control the position here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Petersen prevents Berghen from getting the reversal. Petersen working for a submission but Berghen is keeping him at bay. Berghen tries to hold on but Petersen pushes him away. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Petersen looking to secure an arm triangle but Berghen defends it well. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Petersen has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Berghen's face.
Petersen looking to control but Berghen is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The referee warns Berghen that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Berghen tries to hold on but Petersen pushes him away. Petersen wants to control but instead Berghen manages to regain half guard. Berghen is defending against the submission attempts here by Petersen.
Petersen is trying to control the action in half guard but Berghen is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Petersen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Berghen defends it well. Berghen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Berghen moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Berghen has momentary wrist control but Petersen slips an elbow through the middle. Petersen preventing the sweep. Petersen has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Gizmo's Gym. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Berghen has an active guard here but Petersen has managed to pass into half guard.
Berghen is looking to control Petersen's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Berghen avoid being mounted? Petersen seems to be looking for submissions.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Berghen actively working from the bottom here. Petersen prevents Berghen from improving his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Don Petersen dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Berghen staying out of range there. Berghen attempts a counter takedown but Petersen avoids it well and moves away. Berghen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Petersen. Petersen is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Berghen shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Petersen sprawls well. Petersen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Berghen gets slowly back to his feet. Berghen is looking to take this fight into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Petersen walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Petersen has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Berghen fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Petersen changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Berghen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Petersen avoids it really well and circles away. Petersen is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Arsteen Berghen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Berghen listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Berghen checks a leg kick nicely. Berghen scores with a head kick. Petersen tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Berghen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Petersen's guard. Berghen throwing strikes from guard but Petersen blocks nicely. Petersen looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
