Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mike Steel (ranked 7819 p4p, 668 weight class) and Mad Sweeney (ranked 4920 p4p, 523 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mike Steel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mad Sweeney! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Santiago Holmes and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steel feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Sweeneys jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Steel defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Sweeney. Sweeney shoots in but no luck this time. Steel closes the distance and pushes Sweeney back into the ropes. Steel tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Steel creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Sweeney's defenses.
It looks like Mad Sweeney has been cut. Sweeney takes an elbow to the temple. Sweeney changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Steel fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Mike Steel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mad Sweeney. A head kick from Steel lands but Sweeney takes it in his stride. Steel fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Sweeney. Steel closes the distance and clinches. Steel missing with knees to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Steel trying to land knees to the body.
Sweeney is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Sweeney is working for takedown but Steel is calmly controlling the position for now. Steel stops a takedown attempt from Sweeney.

Steel is fighting off a takedown attempt but Sweeney is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Steel to the mat. Steel regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Sweeney postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Steel wants to get back to his feet but Sweeney is in a dominant position and won't allow it. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Sweeney keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Steel's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steel is looking to stand up but Sweeney isn't so interested in that idea. Steel avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Sweeney shoots in for a double leg but Steel sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Sweeney tries for a takedown but Steel circles away easily and Steel counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Sweeney looks winded! Sweeney is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. Steel gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Steel trying to land knees to the body.
Steel stalling in the clinch but Sweeney improves position. Steel tries to stall but Sweeney uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Maybe Steel would be better served going for some more strikes rather than trying to control so much. Steel's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Steel lands an elbow inside.

Steel tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Sweeney avoids it. A nice glancing elbow lands by Steel.
That has opened up Mad Sweeney's cut even more. Sweeney changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Steel fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Sweeney has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Steel is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Steel lands a right hand. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Both guys are working to get underhooks. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Steel dominated that round. The cut man is working on Mad Sweeney's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Steel throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Steel tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Steel wants to clinch. Steel tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sweeney swats him away and circles back towards the center. Steel pushes Sweeney up against the ropes in a clinch. Sweeney drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Steel gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Steel pushes off an throws an elbow but Sweeney leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the ropes. Sweeney has Steel pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Steel manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Mad Sweeney's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Steel lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Sweeney is still on wobbly legs! Can Steel finish him? Steel lands a big knee! That's hurt Sweeney! Oh, he's all over the place! Steel lands another knee that sends Sweeney to the floor and the referee steps in to end the fight!
