Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Filiberto Clements (ranked 25156 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ross Barkley (ranked 9872 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Filiberto Clements!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ross Barkley!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barkley drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Clements managing to control the position.

Barkley postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Clements is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Barkley, into his guard.


Barkley looking for subs off his back but Clements has passed one foot through into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Clements landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Barkley tries to roll over but Clements keeps him under control.
Clements wants to take a breather but Barkley is having none of it.
Clements really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barkley is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Clements seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Barkley does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Clements working over Barkley with some ground and pound. Barkley looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Barkley is looking to improve his position.
Barkley misses with some strikes from the bottom.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Clements is trying to work for a kimura but Barkley is defending well.

Barkley wants to stand back up but Clements manages to pass into side control.
The ground and pound from Clements seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Clements avoids the strikes from the bottom by Barkley.
Clements lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Barkley misses with a strike from the bottom.
Barkley manages to work his way to half guard, despite Clements's best efforts.
Clements is nestled in close to Barkley, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Barkley is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Clements pulls his head out easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Clements lands with a punch from half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barkley is trying to get back to full guard.

Barkley makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Clements gets tackled into the cage by Barkley. Barkley maintains the clinch.
Clements managing to block the knees to the body from Barkley.
Barkley keeps control of Clements as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Barkley presses Clements against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Barkley breaks the clinch.
Barkley looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
It looked like Clements wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Clements wants to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ross Barkley will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Barkley closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Barkley lands in his opponent's guard.
Barkley distracts Clements with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Barkley working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Clements's head.
Barkley has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Barkley has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Clements is proving hard to escape from.
Clements has Barkley pulled in close to control his posture.

Barkley postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Barkley working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.


Clements is rocked!

Barkley is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Barkley lands a couple of digs.
Oh Clements is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Barkley loads up on a big left hand. Clements felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Barkley looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Clements can't hide his disappointment, as Barkley celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ross Barkley!
