Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Masa Wasa (ranked 3571 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akiro Sata (ranked 6303 p4p, 297 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Wasa might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Welcome To The Jungle. Sata has chosen Onward to Victory! as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Masa Wasa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
23 - 28 - 0, fighting out of New York, Akiro Sata! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Reed Andrews and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Good standup being displayed there by Wasa as he connects with a hook. Sata scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Wasa has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Martial Arts Dojo in the buildup to the fight. Wasa throws a body punch but Sata moves out of range. Wasa avoids the body shot from Sata.
Wasa takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Wasa throws a shot from downtown. Sata moves away and avoids it. Wasa misses with a hook. Sata ducked under it nicely. Sata shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Wasa but Wasa pushes him off and we're back to square one. It looked like Wasa was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Sata. Sata sizes up Wasa with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Sata throws a body shot but no joy. Sata walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Sata just misses with a punch to the body.
Wasa lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Wasa misses with a body shot.

This has been an exciting period of action! Sata misses with a right hand and Wasa counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Wasa chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Wasa throws a sloppy head kick and Sata moves out of range easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wasa takes a body punch but keeps moving. A left lands for Wasa.
Sata is rocked! Sata scores with a jab to the body. Sata is still on wobbly legs! Can Wasa finish him? Wasa bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Sata seems to have recovered his senses. Sata is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Wasa rather than just go for the knockout. Sata throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Wasa sees it coming and avoids it easily. Wasa slaps away a takedown attempt from Sata, before circling back to the center of the mat. Wasa scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Nice uppercut there from Wasa. Sata closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Wasa quickly recovers to half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sata sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Wasa defending well though. Sata is looking for a kimura but Wasa is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sata to get the leverage. Sata missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wasa wants to get back to full guard but Sata has passed into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wasa gets back to half guard. Sata trying to mount his opponent but Wasa defends it. Wasa is trying to get back to full guard. Sata tries to pass to full mount but Wasa defends it. Wasa moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wasa keeping moving, preventing Sata from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wasa seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Sata must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Wasa pushes a forearm under Sata's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Sata is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Masa Wasa! During a confident post fight interview, Masa Wasa thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
