Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ao Ki (ranked 1042 p4p, 117 weight class) and Steve Sanchez (ranked 2442 p4p, 258 weight class). Sanchez has chosen Where is My Mind? by Pixies as his entrance music. Ao Ki could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Steve Sanchez's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ao Ki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Steve Sanchez! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Andrew Berry and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanchez throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Ki on the side of the head. Ki shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sanchez sprawls well. Sanchez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ki gets slowly back to his feet. Sanchez throws a nice inside leg kick. Sanchez throws a leg kick but Ki checks it. Sanchez fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Ki has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Blackscar Fitness in the buildup to the fight. Sanchez has managed to clinch.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Sanchez. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sanchez lands a damaging elbow. A frustrated look appears on Sanchez's face as he tries to break the clinch. Sanchez misses with a hook from the clinch. Sanchez gets underhooks to prevent Ki's takedown attempt.

Ki is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Sanchez gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ao Ki. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sanchez manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Sanchez. Ki blocks an elbow strike. Sanchez has Ki pressed against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Ki just leaning against Sanchez, taking a breather. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Ki has Sanchez pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Ki pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Sanchez tumbling to the mat - Ki dives into Sanchez's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sanchez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Sanchez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ki doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ki manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Ki passes easily into side control. Nice work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ki trying to control the position but Sanchez is working away. Sanchez tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ki wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ki passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Sanchez! Sanchez is trying to reverse the position but instead Ki has taken his back - oops! Sanchez is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Ki is trying to stick to Sanchez's back but Sanchez is turning into Ki. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Ki's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Sanchez. Ki is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Sanchez avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sanchez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ki swivels though and keeps the full guard. Sanchez wants to control from the top but Ki keeps moving. Ki working for a triangle but Sanchez defends it easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sanchez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ki has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sanchez has managed to get both his arms back between Ki's legs - danger averted. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Steve Sanchez dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Ki moves forwards but Sanchez connects with a nice, crisp jab. Ki throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Sanchez has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Ki is landing a low percentage of strikes. Ki gets the takedown into side control. Sanchez tries to buck Ki off but Ki is having none of it. Ki controls the position. Ki tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Sanchez tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ki wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ki is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Ki preventing the sweep. Ao Ki overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ki trying to control but Sanchez is working from the bottom. Ki tries to free his leg and advance position but Sanchez is retaining full guard. Sanchez lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Sanchez stands up over Ki, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Sanchez trying to control but Ki is working from the bottom.

He's now in the guard on the top. Sanchez keeping full guard, as Ki tries to pass. Ki thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Ki preventing the sweep. Sanchez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Ki trying to control the position from guard on top but Sanchez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Ki is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Sanchez is looking to get to half guard. Sanchez regains half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ki trying to control the pace. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ao Ki dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Sanchez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ki. Sanchez throws a nice looking combination but Ki bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Sanchez misses with a hook. Ki appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Ki staying out of range there. Sanchez throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Ki on the side of the head. Ki changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Sanchez misses with a low kick.

Sanchez throws a jab but it's blocked by Ki. Sanchez fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ki manages to avoid it. Sanchez has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Ki avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Ki slips a jab from Sanchez. Sanchez connects with a jab. Ki moves to clinch but Sanchez breaks away so Sanchez counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Sanchez being controlled here momentarily. Ki keeping full guard, as Sanchez tries to pass. Sanchez sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ki's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ki looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Ki actively working from the bottom here. Nice strikes from Sanchez there. Sanchez trying to mount his opponent but Ki defends it. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sanchez lands a nice short elbow. Sanchez is looking to pass Ki's guard but actually Ki recovers to full guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ki has his foot on Sanchez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sanchez works his way back into a safe position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sanchez trying to control but Ki is working from the bottom. Ki wants to hit a switch here but Sanchez passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Ki there! Sanchez lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Ki hang on? Ki takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Ki is rocked! Sanchez tries to control but Ki wriggling away. Oh Ki is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Ki is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Ki seems to have got his legs back now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ki is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Ki is squirming around, avoiding Sanchez's attempts to control the action. Sanchez lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Ki tries to lock up and control but Sanchez gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Oooooh, big shot lands for Sanchez! Ki is hurt baaadly! Sanchez is firing away with more strikes - Ki is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Steve Sanchez! A relieved looking Steve Sanchez thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
