Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pablo Escobar (ranked 3023 p4p, 298 weight class) and Kevin Thompson (ranked 4445 p4p, 400 weight class). Escobar comes to the cage accompanied by Gunz For Hire - Plata O Plomo . Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Escobar lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Thompson has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Thompson and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Thompson looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Escobar throws out a loose jab but Thompson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Escobar looks to land a left hand but Thompson moved out of range nicely.
Escobar swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Pablo Escobar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Thompson has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Escobar has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Thompson is working away from the top position though.
Escobar wants to improve his position but Thompson is controlling well.

Escobar lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Escobar wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Thompson is now in half guard.

Thompson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Escobar knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Thompson moves nicely into side control.
Thompson controls the position.
Thompson is working to tighten his grip on Escobar's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Escobar has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Thompson is really squeezing tight and eventually Escobar passes out! Thompson breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Kevin Thompson took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'I'm coming for that belt! As far as I'm concerned I'm still undefeated, I Hate Work did not beat me, I don't care what the judges said, time to right that wrong!'.
The defeated Pablo Escobar had this to say: 'I have to think about cutting down snorting coke on weekdays'.
