Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between paul wall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Alvarado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, paul wall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anthony Alvarado!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Chad Campbell and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarado misses the shot to the body.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Alvarado.
wall is looking to regain half guard here but Alvarado keeps moving and retains side control.
Alvarado cracks wall with a big elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
wall is trying to control Alvarado's posture but Alvarado avoids it.
wall manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Alvarado seems to be looking for submissions.
Alvarado wants to get back to his feet.
Alvarado looks gassed!
wall wants to control but Alvarado is keeping busy.

Alvarado should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
wall is trying to get back to full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
wall looks for a takedown but Alvarado sprawls well.
wall throws a right hand that Alvarado ducks under and follows up with a left that Alvarado also avoids with ease.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Alvarado throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Alvarado jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as wall walks away with a smile on his face. Alvarado gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

wall wants to clinch up but Alvarado keeps it at a distance.

wall looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Alvarado!
Alvarado tries to buck wall off but he can't manage it.

wall fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

wall moves into the clinch successfully.
wall will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Alvarado up against the cage.
wall wants to get back to striking at distance but Alvarado won't allow it.

Alvarado is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Alvarado wants to pass the guard but wall is keeping the position.

wall slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Alvarado is looking for a sweep. wall is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
wall scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Alvarado with a poor takedown

and wall counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Alvarado's guard now.

Alvarado not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Alvarado has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but wall can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
wall looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Alvarado is fending him off so far but wall persists. Nope, Alvarado circles away and we're back to standing.

paul wall overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

wall looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

wall wants to stand but Alvarado has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
wall tries to clinch up.

wall bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Well wall has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
