And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scott Traves!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Columbo Gatti and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Traves lands a jab to Gill's midsection.

Traves closes the distance and clinches.

Gill is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Gill wants to stall.
Traves gets through Gill's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.


It looks like Lauren Gill has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gill is trying to force a seperation but Traves has the dominant position.
Gill tries to land knees in the clinch but Traves avoids the damage to the body.

Traves jumps into guard, dragging Gill to the mat.

Traves escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gill gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Traves manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Traves should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
A short body shot lands from Traves as the two fighters clinch.

Traves shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Traves not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Traves stands and throws Gill's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Gill is looking for a sweep. Traves is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Traves is looking to take a break and control but Gill is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Traves shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gill napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Traves sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Gill is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gill sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Traves stands up from half guard.

Gill gets caught flat footed, as Traves shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Traves has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Gill is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Gill escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Traves gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Traves is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Traves is trying to control. Gill wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Gill wants to control but Traves passes into side.

Traves tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Traves has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Traves wants to pass the guard but Gill is keeping the position.

Gill manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Traves manages to get himself to full guard.

Gill will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Traves is breathing heavily.

Traves is looking to stand back up but Gill counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Traves.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Gill looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Traves has picked Gill up and slammed him! Gill can't keep hold of the triangle and Traves manages to pass to side control!

Gill bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Well Traves has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
