The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wales bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Backslide's guard.

Backslide decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Wales darts in trying to clinch
and Backslide moves into the clinch.
Wales gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Wales working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Wales trying to control but Backslide is working from the bottom.
Backslide really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wales. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wales pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Backslide is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Backslide can't keep his opponent in guard - Wales advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Backslide keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Wales throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Backslide goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Dan Backslide will probably get the nod.

Backslide feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Wales crashing to the mat! This one is all over!
