PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Michael Seeper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karsten Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Seeper's entrance music is "Cemetary Gates - Pantera. A fine choice. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black tries to bum rush Seeper with a series of wild strikes but Seeper uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Black feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Black wants to control from the top but Seeper keeps moving.
Black wants to pass the guard but Seeper is keeping the position.

Black wants to stand but Seeper has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Black throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Black thows a huge punch but Seeper dodges it nicely.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Black shoots in and drives through. Seeper sprawls well.

Seeper closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Seeper postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Black is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Seeper, into his guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Seeper manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Black manages to get himself to full guard.

Black has momentary wrist control but Seeper slips an elbow through the middle.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A chopping leg kick lands by Black.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Seeper moves forwards but Black connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Seeper takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Seeper shoots in for a takedown but Black shows good takedown defense.

and Seeper counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Black wants to sweep here but Seeper controlling him for the moment.

Seeper stands and steps away. Black gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Seeper is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Black is just riding it out for now. Seeper eventually gives up the hold.

Seeper lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Black!
Black is controlling an arm, preventing Seeper from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Black fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Black cracks Seeper with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

A lazy left from Black finds it's target.

Black goes for a takedown in the clinch but Seeper prevents it.
Black goes for a takedown attempt but Seeper pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Michael Seeper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karsten Black.
