PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ray Sefo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Kingston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sefo comes into the arena with yea blaring out of the sound system. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mark Kingston!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sefo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kingston swats away the attempt to clinch by Sefo.

Kingston feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Kingston wants to pass the guard but Sefo is keeping the position.
Kingston passes Sefo's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Kingston wants to free his trapped foot but Sefo is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kingston thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Kingston passes into side control, despite Sefo's attempt to control the position.
Sefo can't do much from the bottom here.

Sefo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kingston on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kingston cracks Sefo with a big right hand but Sefo just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
A bit of a pause in the action here. Kingston controlling the positon.
Sefo is trying to stand back up.

Sefo stuffs the takedown attempt from Kingston. Kingston gets slowly back to his feet.
Kingston avoids the head kick by Sefo.
Sefo is looking to clinch but Kingston is avoiding it.
Sefo is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Sefo tries to clinch up.
Sefo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kingston swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kingston tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sefo swivels and escapes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kingston closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sefo to the mat! Sefo manages to get full guard.
Sefo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kingston is one step ahead there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kingston has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sefo is proving hard to escape from.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sefo is trying to keep Kingston in close.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Sefo moves in looking to clinch but Kingston pushes him off.

Ray Sefo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Kingston.
Kingston changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Sefo fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Mark Kingston showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Sefo wants to clinch.

Kingston shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kingston showed some decent athleticism there.
Kingston trying to mount his opponent but Sefo defends it.
Kingston is controlling the pace.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Sefo could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Kingston is pressing down on Sefo's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sefo is holding on for now.
Kingston is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Kingston shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sefo as he jumps to the side.

Sefo clinches up with Kingston and pushes him back against the cage.
