The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nowak darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Magic is looking for a sweep. Nowak is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Magic knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nowak on the ground.
Nowak not doing much here.
Magic wants to control but Nowak is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Nowak performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Magic could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Nowak lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Nowak content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Nowak wants to pass to mount but Magic is defending the position.
Nowak missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Magic avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Nowak.
Nowak tries to pass the half guard into mount. Magic knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Let's hope that Nowak has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Magic gets tackled into the cage by Nowak. Nowak maintains the clinch.

Nowak ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Nowak no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Nowak has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Magic doesn't defend quickly enough and Nowak has managed to lock this one up! Can Magic escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Nowak on a fantastic submission victory.
