Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe James (ranked 5965 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Grabowski (ranked 4921 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joe James! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Damian Grabowski! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grabowski throws a series of punches but James moves out of range. James drives through and clinches with Grabowski against the cage.
Grabowski wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but James has him pressed against the cage. Grabowski wants to take the fight to the mat but James manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. A right handed body shot lands from James.
Grabowski jumps guard but James turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Grabowski jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as James walks away with a smile on his face. Grabowski gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Joe James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Damian Grabowski. James closes the distance and pushes Grabowski back into the cage. Grabowski is trying to push James away but James has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. James decides to pull guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Grabowski throwing strikes but missing. My spies in Hell's Furnace Gym inform me that Grabowski has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! James had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Grabowski defends it easily. Grabowski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with James. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. James is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's one minute gone in the round. James is controlling the pace.
James working the head and body with strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. James seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. James tries to stand and escape but Grabowski is controlling the position. James content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Grabowski punching from the bottom.
James is trying for a kimura here. Grabowski looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! James wins by kimura!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Joe James!
