Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brock Jones (ranked 4201 p4p, 455 weight class) and Randy Savage (ranked 7470 p4p, 686 weight class). Savage has chosen Pomp & Circumstance as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Randy Savage!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones falls off balance throwing a combination
and Savage counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Savage passes Jones's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Savage is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones pushes Savage off but Savage dives into side control.
Jones is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Savage is controlling him well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Savage remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
