Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kari Parisyen (ranked 6560 p4p, 507 weight class) and Karl Max (ranked 6326 p4p, 0 weight class). Karl Max is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Parisyen rushes Max and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Max jumps guard but Parisyen turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Max lands an elbow that stopped Parisyen in his tracks for a moment.
It looks like Kari Parisyen has been cut. Max breaks the clinch.
Max throws a sloppy head kick and Parisyen moves out of range easily. Max tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Parisyen darts in and clinches Max up against the cage. Max is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Parisyen to keep the fight standing. Parisyen breaks the clinch.
Parisyen with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Kari Parisyen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Max misses with a takedown attempt - Parisyen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Kari Parisyen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karl Max. Max clinches. Max has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Parisyen avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Parisyen landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Max escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Max chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Parisyen can pounce on him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Max looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Parisyen lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. A combination from Parisyen does no damage. Max moves in looking to clinch but Parisyen pushes him off. Parisyen throws a head kick that half lands.
Max doesn't succeed with the takedown and Parisyen counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Max is lucky that one didn't land flush. Max is looking to clinch but Parisyen is avoiding it.
Max changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Parisyen tries to avoid it but Max manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Parisyen to the ground. Parisyen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Parisyen thuds a left hand into Max's body. Max darts in looking for a takedown but Parisyen gets double underhooks and turns Max into the cage. Parisyen misses with a kick to the body.
Max shoots in for a takedown but Parisyen shows good takedown defense. The fight stays on the outside here - Max looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Parisyen lands a nice leg kick that just misses Max's sensitive parts.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Parisyen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Max moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Parisyen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Max feints the counter takedown. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Max. Max throws a body kick that misses. Max misses with an attempted mid kick.
Max will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Max walks forward, straight into a front kick from Parisyen. Parisyen moves into range and clinches up with Max. Max is looking for a takedown. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Parisyen takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Parisyen misses with a body punch.

Parisyen wants to stand but Max has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Parisyen gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Parisyen fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Max. Parisyen throws a nice head kick!
Parisyen connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Parisyen throws a right and a left that both miss. The fight stays on the outside here - Parisyen looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Horrible takedown attempt by Max or perhaps it was just good defense by Parisyen, which made it look bad. It looked like Parisyen was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Max tries to clinch there but Parisyen circles away.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Parisyen scores with a push kick. Max darts in and clinches Parisyen up against the cage. Parisyen tries to circle away but Max has him pinned against the cage. Parisyen has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Parisyen wants to break the clinch but can't.
Max manages to pull guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Parisyen postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Max throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Max is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Max had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Parisyen defends it easily. Max will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Kari Parisyen dominated that round. The cut man is working on Kari Parisyen's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Parisyen takes a swing at Max's ribcage but misses. Parisyen keeps the fight on the outside. Max moves into the clinch successfully.
Max manages to break the clinch.
Max closes the distance and clinches. Parisyen has Max pushed against the cage. Parisyen wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Parisyen tries to circle away but Max has him pinned against the cage. Parisyen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Parisyen darts in and clinches Max up against the cage. Max drops down looking for an ankle pick but Parisyen pulls his leg out and moves away.
Max changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Parisyen tries to avoid it but Max manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Parisyen to the ground. Parisyen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Kari Parisyen is winning the standup battle so far. Max fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Parisyen throws a counter high kick but Max was just alert enough to avoid it. Kari Parisyen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karl Max.
That's one minute gone in the round. Max clinches up against the cage. Parisyen is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Max can do to turn this around? Max looking to slow down the pace here. Kari Parisyen has scored more points in the clinch so far. Parisyen is trying to force a seperation but Max has the dominant position. Max drops down looking for an ankle pick but Parisyen pulls his leg out and moves away.

Max pushes Parisyen against the cage but Parisyen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Parisyen keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Parisyen is looking to counter the offense by Max and move into the clinch. Parisyen looks for the body kick but Max saw that one coming. Parisyen throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Parisyen connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Max shoots in but Parisyen avoids the takedown attempt easily. Max tries to clinch but Parisyen is having none of it. Parisyen throws a lazy head kick and Max counters with a two punch combo. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Max shoots for a takedown but Parisyen saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Parisyen - that will leave a mark!

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Max crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Parisyen - the referee stops the clock and Max gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Parisyen. Max manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Max clinches with his opponent.
Max keeps control of Parisyen as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Max manages to pull guard.
Max trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Parisyen wants to stand and escape but instead Max has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Max trying to control the position from guard on top but Parisyen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Max pushing down on Parisyen's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Parisyen wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Max wants to control but Parisyen is keeping him busy. Max content to control rather than advance. Parisyen kicks off Max and gets to his feet. A clash of legs there as Max blocks the low kick. Max changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Parisyen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Max doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Max replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Parisyen blocks it well. Parisyen stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Parisyen wants it to stay on the feet. Max fails with the takedown. Parisyen tries to clinch but Max moves out of range. Parisyen leaves Max with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Parisyen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Parisyen keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Max throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Parisyen scores with a spinning back kick! Parisyen swats away the attempt to clinch by Max.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Parisyen gets in close and instigates a clinch. Max ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Max no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Parisyen stands and steps away. Max gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Parisyen lands with a kick to the temple. Max shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Max has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Parisyen. Max fails with the takedown. Max tries to keep at a distance but Parisyen has taken the fight into the clinch. Parisyen wants to get back to striking at distance but Max won't allow it.

Max tries to score a power double leg takedown but Parisyen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Max somewhat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Parisyen is looking to slow Max down with leg kicks. Max gets a takedown into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Max wants to work for an arm triangle but Parisyen is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Kari Parisyen is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Parisyen has hold of Max's hands but Max slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Karl Max has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Max has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Max seems to be looking for submissions.
And that's the end of the fight! Kari Parisyen showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Parisyen, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
