PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Morris (ranked 25185 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dylan Lane (ranked 9170 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dylan Lane!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Morris gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Lane is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Morris gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Lane.
Lane is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Morris pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Lane is trying to break the clinch but Morris has him pressed against the cage.

Lane breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Lane fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Morris, pushing him back against the cage.
Lane avoids a wild elbow strike from Morris.
Morris avoiding damage.
Morris has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
A frustrated look appears on Lane's face as he tries to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lane is looking to control Morris's arms but Morris gets an underhook and turns him. Now Lane has his back to the cage.

Morris is pressed up against the cage. Lane has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Morris down to the mat. Morris avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Andrew Morris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dylan Lane.
Nice takedown defense from Lane. No joy for Morris on that attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The fighters circle momentarily. Lane darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Dylan Lane is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Lane fails to land with a series of punches.

Lane drives through and clinches with Morris against the cage.
Lane drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Lane lands an uppercut.
Lane has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Morris is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Morris could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Morris turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Morris manages to end up in side control.
Morris cracks Lane with a big elbow.
Morris lands a nice forearm strike.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Morris decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Lane closes the distance and clinches.

Morris jumps guard.

Morris looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Lane is defending well. Morris quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Lane has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Morris celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
