Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Meida (ranked 1995 p4p, 62 weight class) and Gordon Mundi (ranked 2504 p4p, 84 weight class). 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gordon Mundi! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Daniel Blasius and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meida connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Mundi has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Meida avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mundi throws out a loose jab but Meida uses good head movement to avoid it. A big left from Meida misses. Mundi bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Meida uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mundi. Meida throws the left hand but Mundi avoids the punch easily. Mundi looks like he wants to counter punch here. Meida throws a hook but Mundi avoids it easily. Mundi is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Meida with a body shot. Meida throws a lazy uppercut

That's one minute gone in the round. Meida jabbing away but nothing is landing. Meida lands with a hook. Mundi tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Mundi throws a shot to the body.
Mundi is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Meida. Meida throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Mundi now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Mundi swings for the body but Meida moves out of range.

They are putting on a show! Mundi fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Meida, pushing him back against the cage. Mundi lands with a short punch from the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mundi cracks Meida with a nice body shot. Mundi is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent. A head punch blocked on the inside by Meida. Meida has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Mundi digs a right hand into Meida's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Meida's gas tank. Meida is breathing heavily. Mundi keeps control of Meida as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Mundi prevents Meida from breaking the clinch. Mundi working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Mundi throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Mundi presses Meida against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Mundi drops Meida onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Meida is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Meida is rocked! Mundi pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Oh Meida is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Mundi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Meida moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Meida seems to have got his legs back now. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A looping hook to the body misses from Mundi. Meida does a little dance to reset his feet. Meida throws a jab when Mundi was well out of range. Mundi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Meida paws at him with a jab and circles away. A slow jab from Mundi misses its intended target. Mundi takes the fight into the clinch. Mundi lands a hook to the side of the head.

Mundi drops Meida onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Meida is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet! Mundi creates a bit of distance for himself, with Meida pressed up against the cage and cracks Meida with a massive uppercut! Meida goes down! He's out cold! Wow, that was some serious power there by Mundi!
