Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Morrison Lee (ranked 233 p4p, 24 weight class) and Michail Podolski (ranked 165 p4p, 15 weight class). Lee comes into the arena with The Pretender blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Morrison Lee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michail Podolski! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Steven Brown and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Podolski lands with a hook. Lee tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Podolski pivots, looking for a leg kick but Lee is out of range and Podolski settles back down. Lee throws a leg kick that misses. Podolski does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Podolski blocks a head kick by Lee.
Podolski was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. Lee connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Lee bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Podolski's head. Lee avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Lee connects with a jab. Podolski throws a hook but Lee blocks it. Lee lands with a nice body kick. Podolski scores with a hook to the body. Lee takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Lee lands a nice shot to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Podolski swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Podolski lands a really nice looking cross but Lee seems unphased.

Podolski throws a body punch but Lee moves out of range. Lee is looking to counter punch. Podolski looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Podolski fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Podolski. Lee shoots in for a takedown but Podolski shows good takedown defense. Lee motions for Podolski to come forward. Lee throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Lee takes a swing at Podolski's ribcage but misses. Podolski misses with a hook. Lee throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Lee walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Podolski scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Lee doesn't seem bothered though. Podolski throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Podolski throws a hook to the side of Lee's head but Lee sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Podolski throws a leg kick that misses. Lee keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Lee uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Podolski. Podolski with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Lee to score with a decent uppercut. Podolski lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Lee throws a head kick but Podolski moves out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lee lands with an overhand left. Lee looks to land a body kick but Podolski moved away. Podolski tries a quick counter leg kick but Lee is wise to it. Lee attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Lee throws the left hand but Podolski avoids the punch easily. Lee drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Podolski is looking for a sweep. Lee tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Podolski tries to buck Lee off but Lee is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lee is trying to get an arm triangle but Podolski is defending well. Lee is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Podolski is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Podolski prevents Lee from improving position. Podolski is looking to reverse the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Lee working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Lee tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! That was a close round but I would say that Morrison Lee will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Lee shoots in for a double leg but Podolski sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Lee ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Lee throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Lee swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Lee is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Podolski paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Nice cross by Lee. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! That was a close second round but I would say that Morrison Lee will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lee throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Podolski tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lee is in Podolski's guard. Podolski can't keep his opponent in guard - Lee advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Podolski is not content to let Lee control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Podolski doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lee. Podolski won't allow Lee to pass to mount. We've been hearing that Lee has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Podolski is trying is best to control the position here. Lee wants to lay and pray for a moment but Podolski keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Lee perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Lee is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Podolski has managed to free his arm - good work. Lee is looking to take a break and control but Podolski is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Lee is looking for a kimura here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Lee throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. A leg kick checked by Lee. Michail Podolski has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Lee shoots in and bounces Podolski off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Lee wants to control from the top but Podolski keeps moving. Lee advances position into side control!

No, Podolski has escaped the position, nice work there. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Podolski trying to remain calm as Lee controls from the top position.
And that's the end of the fight! Morrison Lee showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lee, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
