Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leopold Lacaille (ranked 6587 p4p, 0 weight class) and Czar Gee (ranked 6544 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Leopold Lacaille!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Czar Gee!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gee drives through and clinches with Lacaille against the cage.
Lacaille gets underhooks to prevent Gee's takedown attempt.
Gee is trying to break free.
Lacaille tries to pull guard but Gee forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Gee fails to pull guard.
Lacaille is looking to control Gee's arms but Gee gets an underhook and turns him. Now Lacaille has his back to the cage.
Gee wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Knees in the clinch landing for Lacaille.
Gee prevents a takedown attempt there.

Lacaille drives through and clinches with Gee against the cage.
Lacaille comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Lacaille obliges.

Gee is pressed up against the cage. Lacaille has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Gee down to the mat. Gee avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Gee working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lacaille doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lacaille manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

It looks like Czar Gee has been cut.

Lacaille breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lacaille throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gee's waist but Gee gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lacaille off to one side.

Lacaille lands an elbow inside that Gee shrugs off.
Lacaille's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lacaille wants to control from the top but Gee keeps moving.

Gee is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lacaille defends well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gee can do anything to dispel that myth.

Gee escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lacaille gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Lacaille will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Czar Gee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gee fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Lacaille on the side of the head.

Lacaille dives in and grabs Gee's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gee pushes down on Lacaille's head and hops out.
Lacaille misses with a takedown attempt - Gee sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Gee jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lacaille walks away with a smile on his face. Gee gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lacaille, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
