Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Francesco Manzo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Spencer Rubenstein!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jonathan Paton and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Manzo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rubenstein looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Rubenstein is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Manzo has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Manzo is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Rubenstein's shoulder. That is not cool.

The referee is taking a good look at Rubenstein as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Manzo!

Manzo is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Manzo gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Manzo gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Manzo apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Francesco Manzo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Manzo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rubenstein really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Manzo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rubenstein raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Manzo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rubenstein's waist but Rubenstein gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Manzo off to one side.

Manzo closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Manzo remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Rubenstein pushes Manzo away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Manzo gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Manzo is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rubenstein can do to turn this around?
