PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between George Peterson (ranked 20888 p4p, 788 weight class) and Jacques Durand (ranked 20759 p4p, 746 weight class). Peterson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Rhyme Asylum - Poison Penmanship. Durand has chosen Kaaris - S.E.V.R.A.N. as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Durand misses with a head kick.
Peterson swings for the body but Durand moves out of range.
We've been informed that Durand has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Durand lands a nice leg kick that just misses Peterson's sensitive parts.
Durand scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Peterson moves into range and connects with a jab.
Durand does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Durand throws a solid leg kick but Peterson takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Durand.
Peterson has been working on his boxing with his coaches at LOD: Better Alternative in the buildup to the fight.
Durand tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Durand lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Durand takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Peterson scores with the left hand. Durand knows he should have avoided that one.

Peterson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Durand.

Durand tries to stall but Peterson uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Peterson.
Durand lands a nice knee to the body.

Durand's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Durand counters with a good, hard body kick but Peterson shrugs it off.

A close round but Jacques Durand will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

It looks like Jacques Durand has been cut.
Durand takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Peterson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Durand was well out of range. Poor timing from Peterson.

Durand uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Peterson.
Peterson explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Durand.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Peterson lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Durand has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Durand and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

That kick from Peterson tenderised Durand's leg. Durand is trying to keep his angry face on.

Durand throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Durand takes a swing at Peterson's ribcage but misses.
Peterson throws a leg kick but Durand sees it coming and moves out of range.
Durand fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Peterson.
Durand wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Durand throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Peterson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
The fighters circling - Peterson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Peterson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Peterson takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Jacques Durand is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Peterson throws a nice outside leg kick.
Durand dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Peterson. That did some damage!
Durand dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Jacques Durand comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Durand has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
