Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tomas Bendayho! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mister Dee! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dee shoots and misses and Bendayho counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Dee thinking. Dee dives in for a single leg takedown but Bendayho sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Dee with a lazy takedown attempt and Bendayho counters with a stiff right hand. Tomas Bendayho has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mister Dee. Dee staying out of range there. Bendayho definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Bendayho catches Dee with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Dee bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Bendayho fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dee manages to avoid it. Dee changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bendayho looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Dee looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bendayho wants to control but Dee postures up. Dee goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Bendayho has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Dee but great work by Bendayho. Dee told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bendayho wants to stand but Dee has his arm trapped. Dee manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Dee looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Dee is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bendayho defends it well. Dee in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Bendayho tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Dee!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mister Dee! Mister Dee decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way. In defeat, Tomas Bendayho stepped up to the mic, saying 'If a dog licks your naked feet and u like it....what does that mean?'.
