Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wabricio Ferdum (ranked 5719 p4p, 579 weight class) and Optimus Prime (ranked 7231 p4p, 664 weight class). Ferdum comes to the cage accompanied by PARIS - the devil made me do it. Prime has chosen Rich Boy - Boy Looka Here as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
16 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wabricio Ferdum!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
40 - 32 - 2, fighting out of Helsinki, Optimus Prime!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prime throws a series of punches but Ferdum moves out of range.
Prime misses with a lunging right hand
and Ferdum counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Prime scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Prime throws a poor cross that misses
and Ferdum counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Prime throws a sloppy body shot
enabling Ferdum to counter with a crisp jab.
Prime takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Ferdum throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Prime on the side of the head.
Prime misses with a lunging right hand
and Ferdum counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
It looks like Ferdum has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Prime takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Prime throws an off balance right hand
and Ferdum cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Prime throws a left and a right that both miss
and Prime takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Ferdum drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Ferdum stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Prime swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ferdum trying to control but Prime is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Prime wants to stand and escape but Ferdum is having none of it.
Ferdum working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Ferdum wants to control from the top but Prime keeps moving.
Ferdum not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Prime tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Ferdum slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Ferdum is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Ferdum jabs Prime right on the nose. Prime blinks but takes it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ferdum closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Prime to the mat! Prime manages to get full guard.
Ferdum stands up over Prime, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Ferdum looking to sit in guard and control but Prime gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Ferdum throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Ferdum looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Ferdum wants to sweep but no luck.
Ferdum avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Prime is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Ferdum has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Prime is looking to defend but Ferdum has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Prime! Ferdum pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Prime taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Wabricio Ferdum!
