Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lars Kenardly (ranked 4457 p4p, 521 weight class) and Tyron Woodley (ranked 4987 p4p, 567 weight class). Kenardly kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Strokin. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lars Kenardly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyron Woodley!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woodley swings and misses with a hook to the body.
No joy there for Woodley, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kenardly throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
We've been told by Kenardly's head coaches at Death Valley Training Facility that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Kenardly paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Woodley takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Woodley throws a wild body kick that Kenardly sees coming a mile off.
Kenardly misses with a hook. Woodley ducked under it nicely.

Woodley shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kenardly as he avoids it easily.

and Kenardly counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Kenardly motions for Woodley to come forward. Kenardly throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Kenardly misses with a straight left.
Woodley slips a jab from Kenardly.
Good work by Kenardly as he checks the leg kick.

Kenardly walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Woodley checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Kenardly throws a looping overhand right but Woodley ducks down to avoid it.

Woodley fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Woodley goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like Lars Kenardly has been cut.

Woodley throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Kenardly.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kenardly throws the left hand but Woodley avoids the punch easily.

Kenardly gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Woodley takes an elbow to the forehead.

Woodley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Woodley misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kenardly.
Kenardly tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Woodley manages to circle out of the way.
Woodley pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
A little feinted left hand from Kenardly on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Kenardly lands a jab to the nose.
Woodley ducks under a wild hook from Kenardly.
Kenardly throws a hook to the side of Woodley's head but Woodley sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Lars Kenardly is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kenardly tries a head kick but it misses.
Kenardly fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Woodley.
Woodley moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kenardly sizes up Woodley with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

That was a close round but I would say that Lars Kenardly will probably get the nod.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Kenardly crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Woodley - the referee stops the clock and Kenardly gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Woodley. Kenardly manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Woodley throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Kenardly crashing down! Kenardly tries to stagger back to his feet but Woodley just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Kenardly asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.
