Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Isiah Hensley!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Dirk Anderson and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hensley is trying hard to land a takedown here. Erdmenger sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Hensley looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Erdmenger misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Hensley lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Erdmenger circles away quickly and effectively.
Erdmenger throws a counter high kick but Hensley was just alert enough to avoid it.
Hensley loads up on a big right hand but Erdmenger slips the punch.

Hensley shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Erdmenger sprawls well. Erdmenger wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hensley gets slowly back to his feet.

Hensley jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Erdmenger walks away with a smile on his face. Hensley gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Hensley takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Erdmenger takes the fight into the clinch.
Hensley's coach down at The Island Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hensley's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Erdmenger shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Erdmenger slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Erdmenger throws a solid leg kick but Hensley takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Erdmenger.

and Erdmenger decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hensley's guard.

Hensley is working to avoid the ground and pound but Erdmenger connects with a decent elbow.
Erdmenger wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hensley keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Erdmenger looks up at the clock and then as Hensley takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Erdmenger smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Hensley stops Erdmenger from passing to mount.
Hensley is trying to improve his position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hensley seems a little lost for a moment, as Erdmenger dominates the positioning.
Erdmenger wants to control but Hensley is keeping him busy.
Erdmenger connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Hensley some visible discomfort.
Erdmenger remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Erdmenger's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Erdmenger tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Hensley avoids it.
Erdmenger is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hensley gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Erdmenger is trying to control the position but Hensley postures up.
Daniel Erdmenger overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Hensley drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Erdmenger manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hensley has Erdmenger in his guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
