The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clarke throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Clarke is in close to Smith's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Smith wants to stand up but Clarke is controlling him.
Clarke could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Clarke is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Smith is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Smith has escaped and now he's on top!

Clarke is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Clarke is pulling down on Smith's head to control his posture.

Clarke looking to hit a scissor sweep but Smith is one step ahead there.
Clarke is pulling down on Smith's head. It's preventing any offense from Smith, at least for the moment.
Smith trying to control the position from guard on top but Clarke is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Clarke is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Smith is aware though and is defending well.
Clarke is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Smith is looking to stand up but Clarke won't let him.

Smith is sitting in close to Clarke's body. Clarke has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Smith is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Smith is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Clarke.
