Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Karl Max!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chukwudi Ayokunle!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Max feints and as Ayokunle raises his hands in defense, Max changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Max prevents Ayokunle from getting back to his feet.
Max trying to control the position from guard on top but Ayokunle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ayokunle keeping full guard, as Max tries to pass.
Ayokunle keeping moving, preventing Max from controlling successfully.
Max landing with the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Max trying to control the position from guard on top but Ayokunle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ayokunle is working an open guard so Max takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Max shoots in looking for a takedown. Ayokunle tries to sprawl out of it but Max keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ayokunle manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ayokunle is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Max pushes Ayokunle up against the cage in a clinch.
Max goes for a takedown in the clinch but Ayokunle prevents it.
Max manages to break the clinch.
Ayokunle lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Ayokunle drives through and clinches with Max against the cage.
Max pulls guard effortlessly.
Max looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Max is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Max looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ayokunle is sitting in close to Max's body. Max has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Ayokunle is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Ayokunle is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Max.
