Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pedro Pete (ranked 7777 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jared Franks (ranked 4407 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pedro Pete! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jared Franks! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Franks misses with an attempted mid kick.
Franks fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Franks misses the jab. Pete is looking to counter with a body kick. Franks tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Pete defends well and Franks ends up having to push Pete into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Franks looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Pedro Pete has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jared Franks. Franks tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pete sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Franks somewhat. Pete is looking for a counter combo. Pete shoots for a takedown but Franks saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Franks changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pete tries to avoid it but Franks manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pete to the ground. Pete escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Pete gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Franks tries to pull guard but Pete forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Pete gets control of Franks's arms and successfully pulls guard. Pete will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Franks drops back looking for a leg! Pete is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pete manages to kick Franks off! Franks jumps back into Pete's guard. Pete pulls Franks in close to his closed guard and prevents Franks from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pete keeping moving, preventing Franks from controlling successfully. Pete looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Franks postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Franks preventing the sweep. Pete trying to keep a closed guard but Franks is proving a slippery customer.
Pete wants to control but Franks passes easily into half guard.
Franks is thwarting Pete's attempts to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Franks in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Pete tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Franks!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jared Franks!
