0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Thielke! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pham looks to land a left hand but Thielke moved out of range nicely. Thielke ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Thielke shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pham sprawls well. Pham wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Thielke gets slowly back to his feet. Thielke connects with a body shot that sends Pham's belly button to the back. Pham misses with a wild body shot. Pham lands a body shot.
Pham slips a jab from Thielke. Pham jabbing away but nothing is landing. We've been told by Pham's head coaches at Fight Factory that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Pham fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Thielke on the side of the head. Pham ducks down and throws a hook to the body. A swing and a miss from Pham. Pham sends Thielke crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Pham is motioning to the referee to let Thielke up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Thielke is rocked!
It looks like Daniel Thielke has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Thielke fails with the takedown. Thielke is still on wobbly legs! Can Pham finish him? Pham misses the shot to the body. Thielke fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pham avoids it really well and circles away. Thielke seems to have recovered his senses. Duc Minh Pham has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Thielke.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thielke shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pham sprawls well. Pham wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Thielke gets slowly back to his feet. Thielke takes a swing at Pham's ribcage but misses. Thielke ducks under a wild hook from Pham. Pham missing with a left hand there. Thielke was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Thielke shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Pham trying to control here.
Thielke lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Thielke content to control rather than advance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thielke scoring with strikes to the body and head. Pham is looking to escape. Thielke throwing shots but Pham is blocking nicely. Thielke looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Thielke winds up and cracks Pham with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Thielke controlling the action here. Thielke looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pham with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pham is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Thielke's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Thielke's back! The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Thielke is keeping busy.
Thielke can't escape the position.
Pham is looking to get the fight back to the feet. Pham tries to keep control of the position but Thielke is staying busy. Thielke tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Pham controlling from the full mount. Thielke is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes. Thielke is looking to improve his position but Pham isn't that keen on the idea. Thielke's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Pham is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Pham feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Thielkes jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Thielke sizes up Pham with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Thielke takes one on the button. Thielke blocks a jab. Thielke ducks under a wild hook from Pham. Thielke lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Good exchange - Pham coming out on top. Thielke lands a jab. Pham takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Thielke cracks Pham with an open hand slap. Pham ducks right into an uppercut from Thielke. Pham on the wrong end of a nice hook. Thielke closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Pham takes a shot right to the bread basket. Duc Minh Pham is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Thielke ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pham moves away. Pham sends Thielke crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Pham is motioning to the referee to let Thielke up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet! The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Thielke misses with the combination.
A counter left hand to the body from Pham misses its target. Thielke has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Pham throws a looping overhand right but Thielke ducks down to avoid it. Pham throws a body punch but Thielke moves out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Duc Minh Pham dominated that round. The cut man is working on Daniel Thielke's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Pham waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Thielke. Duc Minh Pham is winning the standup battle so far. Pham drops Thielke with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Thielke looks back up at him and smiles so Pham waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Thielke cracks Pham with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Pham scores with a shot to the body.
Pham throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Thielke misses with a shot to the body and Pham cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pham cracks Thielke with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Thielke falls to his knees and Pham doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Duc Minh Pham! Duc Minh Pham decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
