Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tom Dyer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Stephen Dawson!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dyer connects with a nice looking jab.
Dawson misses with an uppercut. Dyer saw that one coming.
Dawson cracks Dyer with an open hand slap.
Dawson is looking to clinch but Dyer is avoiding it.
Dawson lands a nice hook to Dyer's body. Dyer takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Dyer throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Dyer seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Dawson misses with a lunging right hand
and Dyer counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Dawson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Dyer slips under a jab from Dawson.
Dyer uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dawson.
Dawson doesn't manage to clinch there - Dyer circles away.
Dyer steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dawson.
Nice body kick from Dyer.

Dyer fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dawson to the ground. Dyer is now in Dawson's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dawson being controlled here, momentarily.

Dyer is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Dyer sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Dyer has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Dyer trying to control but Dawson is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dyer is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Dyer.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Dyer with a nice cross.
Dyer throws a left and a right that both miss
and Dawson counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Dyer bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Dyer scores with a punch to the head.
Dawson waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Dyer.
Nice defenses there by Dyer.
A slow jab from Dawson misses its intended target.
Dyer tries to counter by clinching up but Dawson breaks away and moves out of range.
Stephen Dawson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Dyer scores with a takedown into Dawson's guard.
Dyer is standing up over Dawson. Dawson looks to escape but Dyer dives into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.


Dyer is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Dawson looks calm but he's in trouble here. Dyer gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Dawson is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Dyer lets go of the hold and Dawson can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Tom Dyer!
After the fight, Tom Dyer was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
