Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jenzi Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sanchez comes to the cage accompanied by Red Right Return. Machida has chosen For Whom The Bell Tolls as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daniel Sanchez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jenzi Machida! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Daniel Cesar and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanchez chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Machida can pounce on him.
Nice takedown defense from Machida. No joy for Sanchez on that attempt. Sanchez gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Sanchez is trying to break free. Sanchez can't break the clinch.

Sanchez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Machida pinned against the cage. Machida gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Sanchez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Machida circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Sanchez. That's going to take a lot out of him. No luck for Sanchez with that takedown attempt. Sanchez throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sanchez looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Machida fails with an attempt to clinch.

Sanchez has a takedown stuffed. Sanchez throws a lazy head kick and Machida counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Machida trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Sanchez had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Machida is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Sanchez Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Machida's back instead. Machida trying to control the action but Sanchez just sinks the hooks in. Machida tries to escape the position.

Machida trying to control the hands but Sanchez breaks the grip. Machida looks gassed! Sanchez is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Machida wants to escape the position but for the time being he's just trying to control the pace. Sanchez is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Machida up.
Sanchez has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Machida's body.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Sanchez struggling to keep hold of the position.

Sanchez looking to break Machida's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Machida remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Sanchez will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Machida is keeping busy.

A close round but Jenzi Machida will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Sanchez closes the distance and lands a one-two. Sanchez bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Sanchez stands up and beckons Machida to his feet. Machida throws a sloppy head kick and Sanchez counters with a single leg into guard. Machida didn't expect that. Sanchez controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Sanchez wants to pass the guard but Machida is keeping the position. Machida keeping moving, preventing Sanchez from controlling successfully. Machida is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sanchez slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Sanchez has gone for a leg lock! Machida slips out almost immediately though and dives into Sanchez's guard. Sanchez is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Sanchez trying to keep a closed guard but Machida is proving a slippery customer.
Machida postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Sanchez throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Machida must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Sanchez is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Machida misses with a wild body shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sanchez misses with a takedown and Machida counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Machida. Sanchez striking off his back but it's not causing Machida any problems. Sanchez looking for a sweep. Not yet Sanchez, not yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Machida wants to stand but Sanchez is controlling his posture from full guard. Sanchez looking for a sweep. Not yet Sanchez, not yet. Sanchez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Machida is controlling him.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Sanchez throws a head kick but Machida moves out of range.
Sanchez darts in trying to clinch and Machida counters by clinching up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Sanchez dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Machida doesn't succeed with the takedown and Sanchez moves into the clinch. Sanchez successfully pulls guard.
Sanchez wants to stand and escape but Machida is having none of it. Sanchez lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Machida! Sanchez with shots to the head and body - Machida looks very uncomfortable down there. Sanchez jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Machida is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Machida and Sanchez has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Machida can't do much from the bottom here. Sanchez tries to advance to mount but can't. Machida defending against the ground and pound. Sanchez trying to control the action but Machida is working from the bottom. Sanchez working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Sanchez goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Machida has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Sanchez but great work by Machida. Machida is trying to get an arm triangle but Sanchez is defending well.

Daniel Sanchez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Machida takes a body punch but keeps moving. Sanchez tries for a takedown but Machida circles away easily and Machida counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Sanchez looking to control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Sanchez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Machida manages to get himself to full guard.
Machida keeping moving, preventing Sanchez from controlling successfully. Sanchez passes Machida's left leg - he's now in half guard. Sanchez is looking to advance position but Machida won't allow it. Sanchez trying to control the action but Machida is working from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Daniel Sanchez showed his dominance in that final round. I think Sanchez has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
