Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adofo Chigaru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barney Phife (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chigaru comes to the cage accompanied by Walk Like An Egyptian. Adofo Chigaru has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Barney Phife! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Mauricio Rocha and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Chigaru with that takedown attempt. Phife looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Phife tries to pass to full mount but Chigaru defends it. Chigaru blocking the ground and pound attempt from Phife. Phife wants to control but Chigaru is keeping him busy. Chigaru is in trouble now - Phife has advanced to mount! Chigaru is trying desperately to improve position. Phife moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Chigaru has worked his arm free - good work by Chigaru!
Chigaru is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Phife advances nicely into full mount. Phife dominating with strikes here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chigaru is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Phife is working for a guillotine from mount but Chigaru frees his head quite easily.
Chigaru is desperately trying to improve his position but Phife has a good base and remains in mount. Phife looking to finish Chigaru with some ground and pound. This is bad for Chigaru!

Phife prevents Chigaru from getting the reversal. Phife lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Chigaru hang on? Chigaru is wriggling around trying to escape.
Chigaru tries to lock up and control but Phife gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Chigaru is desperately trying to improve his position but Phife has a good base and remains in mount. Phife jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Chigaru manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Phife drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Phife works a leg free and moves into half guard. Phife passes the guard and advances to mount! Chigaru bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Chigaru trying to control but Phife is working from the bottom. Chigaru drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Phife dives on top into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chigaru lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Phife! Chigaru goes for an armbar but Phife turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Phife. Phife cracks Chigaru with a solid left hand. Phife trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Phife avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Barney Phife dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Phife changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Chigaru looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Chigaru is trying to improve his position. Phife scores with a couple of short elbows. Phife scores with punches from side control. Phife cracks Chigaru with a big right hand but Chigaru just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Chigaru on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Barney Phife has got the better of the ground game so far. Phife working the head with strikes. Phife working the ground and pound. Phife cracks Chigaru with a big elbow. Chigaru manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Phife looking for submissions off his back. Phife wants to get back to full guard.

Chigaru is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Phife sees it coming and defends easily. Chigaru prevents Phife from improving his position. Chigaru seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Phife has recovered full guard. Phife throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Chigaru passes Phife's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chigaru is trying to work for a kimura but Phife is defending well.
Phife works his way to full guard. Good work. Chigaru won't allow Phife to sweep him here. Phife is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Chigaru pushes down on Phife's leg and manages to get into half guard. Phife is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Phife tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Chigaru is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Phife has managed to free his arm - good work. Phife tries to roll over but Chigaru keeps him under control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chigaru is keen to just control but Phife is a slippery customer. Phife tries to get to full guard but Chigaru has control of the leg. Chigaru is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Phife missing with a left hand there. Chigaru was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Phife throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Phife fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Chigaru manages to avoid it. Chigaru doesn't succeed with the takedown and Phife counters with a single leg into guard. Chigaru didn't expect that. Chigaru looking for subs off his back but Phife has passed one foot through into half guard.
Chigaru is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Phife's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Phife's back! I really don't envy Phife right now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Barney Phife showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Chigaru misses with a takedown attempt and Phife counters with a nice body shot. Adofo Chigaru seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Chigaru doesn't succeed with the takedown and Phife counters with a nice double leg into side control. Chigaru won't be happy with that. Chigaru manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Chigaru looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Phife tries to pass to full mount but Chigaru defends it. Chigaru is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Phife pulls his head out easily. Phife looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Chigaru wants to sweep but Phife has passed to side control!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Phife looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Chigaru moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Phife throwing strikes from guard but Chigaru blocks nicely. Phife tries to free his leg and advance position but Chigaru is retaining full guard. Chigaru wants to sweep but no luck.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chigaru working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Phife doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Phife manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Chigaru wants to sweep but no luck. Phife is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Phife stopping the sweep attempt from Chigaru.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Chigaru blocks a head kick by Phife.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Phife changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Chigaru looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Phife lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Chigaru down.
Barney Phife is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Chigaru is trying to improve his position. Phife scoring with punches and elbows. Chigaru is not content to let Phife control the position. Phife is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Chigaru is looking to reverse the position. Phife gets to mount! Chigaru was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Adofo Chigaru has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Phife lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Chigaru hang on?
And that's the end of the fight! Barney Phife comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Phife has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
