Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Davy Gustafson (ranked 5814 p4p, 459 weight class) and William Wooden (ranked 4491 p4p, 390 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Davy Gustafson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, William Wooden! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksandr Martynov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wooden throws a lazy right hand but Gustafson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Gustafson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Gustafson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wooden pinned against the cage. Wooden gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Wooden pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Gustafson slips a jab from Wooden. Gustafson avoids the body shot from Wooden.

Wooden pushes down on Gustafson's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Davy Gustafson. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gustafson shoots in and drives through. Wooden sprawls well. Gustafson blocks a jab. Gustafson looks for a takedown but Wooden sprawls well. Wooden connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gustafson staying out of range there. Wooden is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gustafson. Gustafson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Wooden. Gustafson drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Wooden gets caught flat footed, as Gustafson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Gustafson trying to control but Wooden is working from the bottom. Wooden has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gustafson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Gustafson stands and throws Wooden's legs to the side, diving into side control. Wooden is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Gustafson off and has taken his back! Gustafson is trying to remain composed but Wooden is hammering down strikes to the side of his head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooden lands an elbow to the side of the head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Wooden scores with punches from the back.
Gustafson rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Gustafson tries to roll over but Wooden keeps him under control. Wooden really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gustafson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Wooden is stalling here. Gustafson is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Wooden seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Gustafson has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Gustafson tries for a kimura but Wooden is defending well.

Wooden slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Wooden wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Wooden throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Wooden has his foot on Gustafson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gustafson works his way back into a safe position though. Gustafson trying to control the position from guard on top but Wooden is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Gustafson drops back looking for a leg! Wooden is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wooden manages to kick Gustafson off! Gustafson jumps back into Wooden's guard. Gustafson trying to control the position from guard on top but Wooden is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Wooden looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Gustafson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Wooden is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
William Wooden dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Gustafson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Wooden defends it nicely. Gustafson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Wooden. A lazy left from Wooden finds it's target. A telegraphed right hand from Wooden misses the target. Wooden stuffs the takedown attempt from Gustafson. Gustafson gets slowly back to his feet. Wooden closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gustafson did well to prevent Wooden getting side control. Gustafson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Wooden scores with a couple of nice shots. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gustafson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Wooden's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Wooden's back! Wooden is really stuck here.

Wooden is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Gustafson off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Wooden is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Gustafson is trying to stick to Wooden's back but Wooden is turning into Gustafson. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Gustafson's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Wooden. Gustafson looking to control.
Wooden lands a couple of digs. Wooden keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gustafson's head. Wooden has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Gustafson has momentary wrist control but Wooden slips an elbow through the middle.

No, Wooden has managed to get both his arms back between Gustafson's legs - danger averted. Gustafson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wooden is one step ahead there. Wooden landing with the ground and pound. Gustafson keeping moving, preventing Wooden from controlling successfully. Gustafson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Gustafson is working for a kimura but Wooden is defending it quite comfortably.

Nice work. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Wooden is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Wooden stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gustafson swivels though and keeps the full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
William Wooden showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Wooden landing some decent shots from guard. Wooden distracts Gustafson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wooden chips away with some ground and pound. Wooden lands a couple of digs. Wooden working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Gustafson's head. Wooden lands a couple of decent looking shots. Wooden lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Gustafson is rocked! Wooden landing with the ground and pound. Oh Gustafson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Wooden postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Gustafson covers up, he's hurt! Wooden keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Wooden and the ref steps in to end the fight! Wooden can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
