Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simon Vale (ranked 928 p4p, 104 weight class) and John Wayne Gracie (ranked 972 p4p, 109 weight class). Vale comes to the cage accompanied by Motorhead-Iron Fist . The crowd seem to be enjoying Gracie's choice of entrance music: Thriller by Michael Jackson. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Simon Vale! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Wayne Gracie! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Eddie Farnsworth and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vale misses the shot to the body. Gracie counters with a body kick. Gracie throws a leg kick that misses. A little feinted left hand from Vale on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Gracie throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Gracie manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Vale on his heels. He'll look to pass Vale's guard now, I'm sure. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Vale wants to stand but Gracie is controlling the position. Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Vale is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Vale is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Gracie presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Gracie is leaning against Vale and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Gracie misses with a body punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vale misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Gracie breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Vale feints and as Gracie raises his hands in defense, Vale changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Vale has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Vale throws a big right hand that misses. Gracie keeping moving, preventing Vale from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vale content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Gracie has locked up a guillotine! Gracie's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Vale is holding on here and Gracie must be using up a lot of energy. Vale has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Gracie gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). John Wayne Gracie! A very excited looking John Wayne Gracie made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
