Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Murphy Leonard (ranked 1343 p4p, 144 weight class) and Mamoru Takamura (ranked 2970 p4p, 292 weight class). Takamura has chosen Pay Money To My Pain - Weight Of My Pride as his entrance music. Murphy Leonard has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leonard throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Takamura was covering up waiting for the punch and Leonard finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Takamura fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Leonard has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Leonard seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Takamura throws a leg kick but Leonard sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Takamura dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Leonard. That did some damage!

Takamura throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Leonard shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Takamura as he avoids it easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
