Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tony Ramos (ranked 171 p4p, 21 weight class) and Kira Miyata (ranked 107 p4p, 10 weight class). Miyata comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Boa - Energetic kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
23 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Ramos ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
42 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kira Miyata! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miyata fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Ramos bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Nice takedown defense from Ramos . No joy for Miyata on that attempt. A jab from Miyata does it's job there. Miyata throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ramos throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Miyata sees it coming and avoids it easily. Miyata uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ramos . Ramos scores with a jab. Miyata closes the distance and clinches up with Ramos , looking for a takedown. Miyata pushes Ramos against the cage but Ramos circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Ramos throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Miyata keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ramos . Ramos on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Ramos scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Miyata waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Ramos . A lazy left from Ramos finds it's target. Miyata looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ramos is fending him off so far but Miyata persists. Nope, Ramos circles away and we're back to standing. Tony Ramos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kira Miyata. Miyata scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Ramos slips under a jab from Miyata. Miyata looks to throw the jab but Ramos is out of range. Ramos feinted with a counter takedown.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ramos misses with a looping right. Ramos scores with a sloppy right hand. Miyata should have avoided that one. Ramos shoots in but Miyata avoids the takedown attempt easily. Miyata rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Ramos cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Ramos misses with a combination
and Miyata counters with a straight punch to the midsection. A big right from Ramos misses. Miyata with the counter takedown but Ramos avoids it easily. Miyata looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Ramos tries to counter with a takedown but Miyata is quick to defend against it. Ramos swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Miyata looks like he wants to counter punch here. Ramos misses with a jab, cross combination.

Ramos throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Miyata works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Ramos throws a big right hand that misses. Ramos landing with the ground and pound. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Ramos takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ramos in particular looking to stall. Miyata looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Ramos drops an elbow to the side of Miyata's head. Miyata tries to roll over but Ramos keeps him under control. Ramos passes to full mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tony Ramos dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Miyata throws a body punch but Ramos moves out of range. Ramos throws out a loose jab but Miyata uses good head movement to avoid it. Ramos misses with a straight right. Ramos shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Miyata as he jumps to the side. Miyata steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ramos . Ramos shoots in looking for a takedown but Miyata manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ramos 's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Ramos uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Miyata.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ramos . Miyata does a little dance to reset his feet. Ramos stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ramos wants it to stay on the feet. A shot to the body from Ramos misses and Miyata counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Miyata. Ramos is trying to hold Miyata in close to prevent damage but Miyata has managed to pass into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ramos slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ramos is on top in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Ramos with a nice head shot there. Ramos lands a couple of digs. Miyata is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ramos is aware though and is defending well. Miyata looking for a sweep. Not yet Miyata, not yet. Miyata keeping moving, preventing Ramos from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ramos stopping the sweep attempt from Miyata. Ramos working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. We've been hearing that Ramos has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Miyata trying to control from the bottom.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Miyata enables Ramos to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Miyata manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Ramos loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Ramos throws a big elbow that misses. Ramos throwing strikes but missing. Miyata had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ramos defends it easily. Ramos is stalling in the full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ramos seems to be working for a kimura but Miyata defends the submission attempt. Tony Ramos is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Ramos is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
And that's the end of the fight! Tony Ramos showed his dominance in that final round. Well Ramos has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
