Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lyman Kissell (ranked 997 p4p, 107 weight class) and Fujiwara Tsuyoshi (ranked 1111 p4p, 117 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fujiwara Tsuyoshi!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tsuyoshi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Tsuyoshi wants it to stay on the feet.
Tsuyoshi throws a combination. Kissell tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Tsuyoshi lands with a cross.

Kissell fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Tsuyoshi, pushing him back against the cage.
Kissell pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Tsuyoshi told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.
Tsuyoshi creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kissell is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Tsuyoshi is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Kissell tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Kissell has clasped his hands together around Tsuyoshi's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Kissell tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kissell has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
You can see the frustration on Tsuyoshi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Kissell thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kissell wants to pass the guard but Tsuyoshi is keeping the position.
Kissell chips away with some ground and pound.

Tsuyoshi is not content to let Kissell control the position.

Fujiwara Tsuyoshi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Kissell is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Tsuyoshi can't fight it off and eventually Kissell manages to take the fight to the floor. Tsuyoshi looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Kissell moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Kissell has his foot on Tsuyoshi's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tsuyoshi works his way back into a safe position though.

Kissell bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tsuyoshi's guard.

I would just about give that final round to Fujiwara Tsuyoshi.
I've got Tsuyoshi winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
