Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brian McBride (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonathan Latendresse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Latendresse has chosen I Gotta Feeling as his entrance music. Brian McBride has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jonathan Latendresse!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Latendresse tries to clinch there but McBride circles away.
Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign!
Latendresse tries to close the distance and clinch but McBride swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Latendresse is looking to clinch but McBride is avoiding it.
Latendresse wants to clinch up but McBride keeps it at a distance.
McBride will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
McBride misses with a two punch combination.
McBride slips a straight right by Latendresse.
Latendresse fails with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Latendresse avoids the body shot from McBride.

McBride shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. McBride showed some decent athleticism there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McBride is stalling here. Latendresse is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! McBride seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Latendresse has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
McBride seems a little lost for a moment, as Latendresse dominates the positioning.
McBride might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

McBride is looking for a sweep. Latendresse is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Latendresse wants to clinch.
McBride lands a jab to Latendresse's midsection.

Latendresse shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Latendresse showed some decent athleticism there.
McBride tries to roll over but Latendresse keeps him under control.
Latendresse seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McBride does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Latendresse winds up and cracks McBride with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
McBride moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
McBride keeping moving, preventing Latendresse from controlling successfully.
McBride is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

McBride working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Latendresse doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Latendresse manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
McBride has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Latendresse has passed into side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Latendresse wants to lay and pray for a moment but McBride keeps working.

That was a close round but I would say that Brian McBride will probably get the nod.

McBride is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Latendresse is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

McBride closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - McBride lands in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McBride is pushing down on Latendresse's leg trying to pass to half guard. Latendresse is fighting to maintain full guard but McBride has managed to sneak the leg through.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
